Ingmar Bergman, the "poet with a camera," died yesterday in his sleep at his home in Faro, Sweden, at the age of 89.
The news is quite a punch in the gut for me. Right, it should have been expected given his age, but that doesn't seem to dull the loss. ~ Remember you, and thanks a million for all.
"Film as dream, film as music. No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls." Long Live your soul. Long Live our immortal and revelatory films.
